HOW FUNDING WORKS
Most students miss scholarships on timing, not on merit.
Scholarship deadlines usually sit well before admission deadlines, and many awards close once the fund is exhausted regardless of the published date. We check what you qualify for at the shortlist stage, not after the offer arrives, because by then the useful money is often already committed.
- 01Checked at shortlist stageFunding shapes the shortlist rather than following it.
- 02Only what you qualify forNo application fees wasted on awards you cannot win.
- 03Written, not just listedWe draft the essays with you, the same as a statement.

Applying for funding costs you nothing
Scholarship guidance sits inside the counselling service. We do not charge to identify awards, to draft the essays, or to assemble the evidence pack — and we do not take a percentage of anything you win.
What we will not do is submit you for awards you cannot realistically win. Every application takes hours of your time and some carry their own fees. Screening for eligibility first is the difference between a funded place and a pile of polite rejections.
WHAT WE DO
Finding money you can actually win.
Funding rarely comes from one place. Most funded students end up combining two or three routes, each with its own deadline.
Why scholarship deadlines come first
Almost every student who misses out on funding misses it on timing rather than merit. Scholarship deadlines usually close months before admission deadlines, and many awards stop accepting applications once the fund is committed, whatever the published date says. That is why we screen for funding at the shortlist stage instead of after your offer arrives. By the time an offer is in hand, the useful money for that intake has often already been allocated.
What a scholarship application needs
Panels read hundreds of these. The ones that win are specific, evidenced and answer the question that was actually asked.
- ✓A scholarship essayAddressing the award's stated criteria, not your course choice
- ✓Academic evidenceTranscripts showing the band the award is looking for
- ✓Financial documentationWhere the award is need-based, in the format specified
- ✓ReferencesOften different referees from your admission application
- ✓Proof of activitiesVolunteering, leadership or research the essay claims
- ✓A submitted admission applicationMost awards require one before they will assess you
